Patrick's Second album Bass Up Front does exactly that -- it puts the bass in the spotlight, playing exciting music that pulls from all of his inspirations. The quartet also includes Tatsuki Kikuchi on trumpet, Takayoshi Baba on guitar, and Kaito Nakamura Davis on drums. Recorded in Tokyo at Studio Dede, this album was an exciting ride that will leave you with a different expectation for bass playing.
CLOVER
Patrick Leavy's debut album, Clover, showcases his bass playing to the fullest extent in a chordless trio consisting of Marcus Strickland on tenor saxophone and Ludwig Afonso on drums. Clover features a mix of original compositions, jazz standards, and an unaccompanied selection from the American Songbook.
